The winner of Idea Summit™ Taranaki 2019 receives:

  • $10,000 cash
  • Entry into the Support & Growth coaching provided by The Factory

Here's how it works...

Step 1

Get involved! If you've got an idea for a new business, or a problem you think could be solved with a commercial solution, then enter it here on this site. Entry is free, and all it takes is filling out the short application form.

We are looking for business ideas that can be successful both here in Taranaki and throughout New Zealand and the world. Thinking caps on - you have until 4pm on Monday 10 June 2019 to submit your entry!

Step 2

Round of 20

The top 20 entries will be asked to pitch in front of our mentors and judges.  Each entrant or team will have only 150 seconds to get their idea across - not long, so get to the point. Our mentors will select the top five entries from the pitches and some additional information that may be requested in advance to reach this stage.  If you don't make the top 5 this time, we have some places up for grabs for business coaching in the new Idea Summit Academy course.

Step 3

Top five accelerator

In the 8 weeks from selection through to the finals, each successful startup founder will receive workshop tuition and a mentor to work with to get ready to pitch their idea at The Finals. The mentors know what it’s like to build and grow a successful venture. Their experience is invaluable – use it wisely! The workshops are provided by The Factory on alternate weeks, with an opportunity to meet with a mentor in between. A great package of support aimed at accelerating your business idea.

Step 4

Pitch practice

An opportunity for a dress rehearsal of your pitch to the mentors. Put into practice the insights and know-how you’ve gained over the previous few weeks.

There are opportunities for feedback and refinement before the finals to give you the best chance of success.

Step 5

The Finals
Wednesday 14 August 2019

The main event of our startup journey. The finalists have 5 minutes to pitch to the judges and, in front of our invited guests, convince them that they are worthy of carrying off the main prize package. We will also hear from local startup founders about how they have achieved their own success.
